My Bio
PortuLena

Who is PortuLena?

My name is Lena, I am 35 years old and I grew up in Ludwigshafen in Germany.

I have always been a travel enthusiast. When I finished school I moved to Chicago (USA) to do an  internship in event management and I lived with a lovely host family. I absolutely loved it. It was such a great adventure to live in a different culture, meeting new people, speaking another language.

After that I started a dual study program in economics with adidas. During this program I lived in between Herzogenaurach and Stuttgart and I worked 3 months in Zaragoza in Spain.  I realized that this wasn't really my passion, so I studied philosophy and cognitive science at  the university in Freiburg, Germany, afterwards

I did 6 months Erasmus in Tromsø in Norway and when I finished my  studies I moved to Brasilia in Brazil to do an internship with "Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit". I fell in love with the Brazilian lifestyle, the warm weather, the lovely  people and when I moved back to Germany I realized that I want to

live in a place with a lot of sun and the ocean. I dropped everything and went to Sintra in Portugal to work at the reception of a tiny little guesthouse.

I have been living in Portugal ever since (7 years by now) and I can tell you that this became my home. I love traveling and exploring but I can truly say that I feel at home here. I moved from Sintra to Lisbon

and then from Lisbon to Almada. I have been working in the tourism industry ever since:

Administration and event management for Oasis Backpackers Hospitality,

Booking Specialist at IndieCampers and Travel Agent for the travel agency Navan.

I love Portugal and I want to share this passion by showing tourists the best places to  watch the sunset, the nicest viewpoint to see the city, the best little corner coffee and beautiful art pieces in this vibrant city.

I spend my free time exploring, I love to run and to hike (trail run), going to art exhibitions and finding street art and therefore I created these unique tours to try to give you an amazing experience when you come to visit.

PortuLena hosts guided walking tours in German, English or Portuguese.
